Watch ã??ã?¯ã?¿ã?¼ã?»ã??à l"article. This movie so accuratley describes the life of a mildly oppressed teen trying to find their place in the world, i felt myself in her character and her spunk and flamboyance. will always be one of my top favorite films. like, ladybird and i had almost similar teenage expierienced. it"s scary.
Timothee"s reaction to listening to a 10 year old Saoirse is my exact reaction to EVERYTHING HE DOES. I fell in love with her in City Of Ember.
Is it a bad sign that this movie seemed normal
I miss my mom. "Some people aren"t built happy, you know."
Why is this film nominated for five Oscars is really a mystery clear to me. "Lady Bid" is quite an ordinary story about a pretty much ordinary life of a very ordinary teenager. It could have been about mostly anyone. None of the characters and none of the events stand out from the average everyday life of an average middle-class member. They could literally take the camera and choose an accidental passer-by and record a few days of his life. The story does not bring absolutely nothing original nor interesting, and the characters are totally clichéd. A teenage girl, who thinks that nobody understands her, has a great relationship with one of her parents and is in constant war with another one. Adopted brother is a different race, a fat girl is a good person and a true friend, a beautiful rich girl is empty and shallow. She falls in love with a handsome guy who turns out to be gay and then loses virginity by being sexually exploited by an arrogant boy who has a band. In the era of forcing political correctness and tolerance, they tried to respect gender-racial-economic-sexual diversity, but essentially failed in the character development and writing of a story that would have some point. Technically speaking, I have no objections. The acting is great, camera, directing, music, everything is in place. But the movie is pointless. It is not dramatic, it is not funny, not scary, it"s not exciting, it"s not a damn thing. There are films that ignore the essence to enchant us with form, there are those who ignore the form by concentrating solely on the essence. The best are those that have both the form and substance at a high level. This movie will not impress you with either. The little essence I have found in it has been seen countless times, and often in a much more impressive form. And yet, I was not bored, because it is easy to identify with the main character, and the actress and her performance are very appealing. All in all, if you see it you will not regret it, and if you skip it you won"t miss much.
6/10.
What a lovely young woman! She converses with everyone on the same level, like a good friend that she"s comfortable rambling on with. Such a gorgeous ending. It didn"t bother for an elaborate confrontational scene. Just a simple phone call that tied up the story and characters" arc (Christine reconciling with her mom and then her realizing that she loves Sacramento.
I found this movie so dreary and cynical. It was just depressing
I love her accent so much and she"s my new favorite actress. Uhhh why can"t I see it. Great essay! This is one of my favorites of my year. Such amazing movie and yet, in my country its only goin to cinemas in april... Watch Î?Ï?κÏ?i.t.i.o.n... 2. She"s come a long way from City of Embers. Love her, she really is fantastic. Oh ya, and stunningly beautiful.
The way he looked at her and when she made eye contact he was soo shy. He is adorable. What a genuinely nice person she is. Wonderfully done. Bill: But I did to mommy what you did to Emilio BB: you stomped on mommy ? Bill: worse, I shot mommy. Not pretend shooting like what we were just doing... I shot her for real. BB: Why? Did you want to see what would happen? Billy: No I knew what would happen to mommy if I shot her. What I didn"t know is when I shot mommy what would happen to me. BB: What happened? Bill: I was very sad. Cans omeone explain the ending to me. She is so down-to-earth and charming and funny. And I love her accent. Also, she was great in “Lady Bird” and “Brooklyn”.
I honestly can"t comprehend how to pronounce her name still.
